Day 9 - How the marking system in classroom

Now, it's the day 9 and I still observe in the classroom in Math subject. One thing that I really notice the most, is how the teacher giving the score to each student. The students are taught to be competing for each other.  The teacher will give students 1 point who answer the question or brave to fill out the blank on the whiteboard. The point is given only for the fastest and the right answer. So students every day are pushed to be fast and quick in thinking.
Each student has a number to represent their name. For example, in the classroom, there are 11 students. So, each number from 1 to 11 represent the name of the student. Then, for example, if a number 3 student answer or fill the blank on a whiteboard, she/he will get one score. The score could be a star or a roman numeral 1. The more a student can answer, the more they will get the score. And at the end, the teacher will accumulate who is the highest score and the lowest.
